Spring Fling
Spring is officially here and so are the trends. This newsletter includes some simple items you can add to your wardrobe to help usher in the warmth of spring.
Wedges and platforms are back and I’m so excited because these are so comfortable and they look great with pants and skirts. These shoes are also a perfect match with another trend and “must have” for the season – dresses.
Dresses are probably one of the easiest things to wear in the warmer weather because you don’t have to spend time picking out an outfit – just throw on some wedges or even a pair of flip flops, (but not rubber), a long beaded necklace or a pair of hoop earnings and you are good to go. Another fabulous thing about the casual dresses is that they are extremely comfortable and they’re the perfect item to take on vacation; they are easy to dress up or down.
I know there a lot of people who are afraid of wearing white, but I love it because it goes with everything and instantly looks clean and chic. Even though you may not wear white while you are out and about and running after kids, I would still considering adding a few white items to your wardrobe. A white purse would be the perfect accessory, and you wouldn’t have to worry about getting it dirty. Another possibility would be a white jean jacket – just as versatile as the regular dark denim jean jacket, but helps you look springy in the process. A pair of white jeans would also be fabulous because they are a little bit dressier than regular jeans and look great with just a simple t-shirt.
Metallic are also going to be seen a lot this spring, but remember just to infuse a few touches into your outfit – I would say, no more than two things. Unfortunately, in this case, too much of a good thing can be bad so my suggestion is to look for a pair of metallic shoes and a purse. Two perfect items that you can wear together, separately, or mix and match with many items. Metallics look great with black, white, brown, navy – try a pair of white jeans, a navy t-shirt and a metallic flat – c’est magnifique!
These trends are meant to inspire you this season, so take one, or all of them and make them your own. The possibilities are endless this spring, so have fun, but again, keep it simple and only pick items that are a reflection of you and your person style!
